Multi-functional Recliners – All You Need to Know
The first decision is whether your new recliner should have an inbuilt electric motor or not. Wondering what that means? Let us explain further.
1. Electric Recliners
At Seniorshop, you can choose an electric recliner that connects to a power outlet and comes with a remote control to manage its features.
Electric recliners are among the most popular because you can relax and adjust the features with just the push of a button. They're especially suitable if mobility is a challenge or if you have trouble getting up or sitting down.
Many of our recliners also feature a 'stand-up' function, which eases you out of the seat without straining your body. More details on the lift-assist function can be found below. You can also adjust the backrest and leg rest with the remote control.
Choose a recliner with a few or many settings. For instance, a two-motor model lets you adjust the backrest and footrest independently. This means you can extend the footrest while sitting upright, or recline without using the footrest.
Standard versions with one motor synchronize the movements of the backrest and footrest, operating them together.
All our motorized chairs come with a remote control linked to the chair. Keep in mind that the more features a chair has, the more buttons the remote will have. Basic models may have two to four buttons, while advanced models have more.

3. Size

Seat Width: For the seat, you have the option between Small, Medium, Large, and sometimes Extra Large. Most people find a Medium size suitable, but you can check all our dimensions and recommendations on our website.
Height: After choosing the right seat width, the next step is selecting the height. Decide whether you like your recliner to be low, medium, or high. The height should match yours – for instance, if you're short, opt for a lower chair.
