Gain More Freedom to Move Around

A walker can make an incredible difference for people with limited mobility. It’s an aid that can significantly enhance the user's quality of life and offer greater freedom in daily activities.

Here are descriptions of the key benefits:

  • Safety: Firstly, a walker can enhance the user's safety and stability. Moving around with limited mobility or balance issues can be challenging, but a walker provides the support and steadiness needed. Equipped with stable wheels and a strong frame, walkers offer a secure base to move from. People with balance issues or weakened leg muscles can feel more confident and less prone to falls when using a walker.
  • Independence: Secondly, a walker can offer greater independence and freedom. With a walker, users can continue to move around and perform daily tasks on their own, fostering a sense of autonomy and a more active lifestyle. Walkers are also suitable for travel, allowing users to maintain their lifestyle even when away from home.
  • Health: Thirdly, a walker can enhance the user's physical health. Using a walker for mobility helps in maintaining or improving physical health and can prevent falls and injuries that could negatively impact well-being.

Overall, a walker is a fantastic tool for individuals with reduced mobility who wish to retain their independence and continue with daily activities.

There are two different types of walkers: indoor and outdoor, designed for various environments.

Should I Choose an Indoor or Outdoor Walker?

Indoor and outdoor walkers are specifically developed for different purposes and needs:

Indoor Walkers

  • Narrower and easy to maneuver at home
  • Equipped with smaller wheels for smooth floors
  • Perfect for narrow hallways, doorways, and small spaces

Outdoor Walkers

  • Larger and more shock-absorbing wheels
  • Built to handle gravel, cobblestones, and uneven paths
  • Wider frame and robust construction for extra safety

In short: Indoor walkers offer flexibility at home, while outdoor walkers provide shock absorption and extra stability when moving outside.

Remember: an outdoor walker can be used indoors if space permits. However, an indoor walker is only designed for use at home.

We Only Offer Foldable Walkers

Nowadays, walkers are designed to fold for convenience. One of the main advantages of foldable walkers is their compact size, making them easy to transport and store, especially in small cars or homes with limited space.

All walkers on this page are foldable, ensuring this feature regardless of the model you choose.

There are fundamentally two different ways to fold a walker. The most common type folds sideways like an accordion, which is quicker and easier to handle. This allows the walker to stand upright even when folded.

Other models fold forward, meaning the walker must be laid down when folded.

How to Adjust the Height of Your Walker Correctly

Having the correct walker height is crucial for comfort, safety, and proper posture. Incorrect height can cause discomfort in the back, shoulders, and wrists.

When standing upright with arms relaxed by the sides, handles should be positioned so elbows are slightly bent at about 20–30 degrees. Typically, this means handles are around hip to waist height, depending on your own height.

Benefits of Choosing a Lightweight Walker

A walker usually weighs between 5-10 kg, depending on the material and wheel type.

A lightweight walker is typically made from aluminum or carbon fiber, making it significantly lighter than traditional walkers while maintaining high stability and safety.

The low weight makes the walker easy to maneuver both indoors and outdoors and is especially beneficial for users with reduced muscle strength or frequent transportation needs. Many lightweight walkers can easily fold and be lifted into a car, bus, or train, making them ideal for an active lifestyle.

Modern lightweight walkers are often equipped with ergonomic handles, adjustable height, effective brakes, and comfortable seats, allowing the user to rest along the way.

If you have a permanent disability, you can apply to your municipality for financial support for assistive devices—including rollators. What does a rollator cost?

A walker typically costs between 800 and 4,000 kroner, depending on quality and intended use. Budget models are often made from heavier materials, feature simple wheels, and have minimal functions. In contrast, premium models use lighter and stronger materials like aluminum or carbon fiber, and come with superior wheels, suspension, and ergonomic features. This means greater comfort, durability, and ease of use for you.

Which rollator should I choose?

First and foremost, you need to consider whether you'll be using your rollator indoors, outdoors, or a combination of both. Keep in mind that an indoor rollator can only be used indoors, while an outdoor rollator is versatile enough for both indoor and outdoor use.

It's also important to think about the weight of the rollator. Opting for a lightweight model is advantageous, though they tend to be more expensive than standard ones, as they're made from specially lightweight materials like carbon fiber.
