Affordable Beginner Poles

Classic, lightweight, and stable trekking poles from Black Diamond designed for allround use. The Explorer 2 trekking poles feature the smart FlickLock® system, making them very easy to adjust in height. These 2-piece poles can be adjusted from 100-140 cm.

The handles are covered with soft, non-slip EVA foam, providing extra comfort and a secure grip. Explorer 2 is sold as a set of 2 and comes with interchangeable baskets, including a special one for snow.

Seamless Height Adjustment:

With the smart FlickLock® system, the trekking poles can be easily and quickly adjusted in height. Flip up the small handle on the lock, adjust the pole to the desired length, and secure it by flipping the handle back down.

The height is adjusted using a telescopic function, allowing the pole to be compacted and extended, similar to a telescope.

To get the most out of your trekking poles, it's crucial to adjust the height correctly for you. Walking with the poles should feel natural, and if they are too short or too long, you may experience tense shoulders or lower back discomfort.

↪ Good Rule of Thumb: Ensure that your elbow forms a 90° angle when the pole touches the ground, and you are walking on flat terrain.

If hiking uphill, it's recommended to shorten the trekking pole by 5-10 cm. Similarly, reducing the poles by 5-10 cm can be beneficial when walking downhill.
