Guide: What Height Should Your Cane Be?

If you're unsure about the correct height for your cane, you can easily determine the ideal measurement at home.

As a rule of thumb, the correct cane length is approximately half your overall height, but for the most accurate measurement, measure from your wrist to the floor:

Stand upright with relaxed shoulders and arms at your sides—wearing your shoes.
Have someone else measure the distance from the floor to your wrist. This distance corresponds to the cane length from the floor to the top edge of the handle.

The measurement should not differ by more than +/- 2 cm.
